Coding Audit
Legacy Coding's coding assessments have provided our clients the ability to pinpoint deficiencies affecting the revenue cycle, as well as regulatory noncompliance. Our coding assessments equip hospitals with an evaluation tool to use in concert with their compliance plans.

Inpatient: Periodic reviews (annually, semi-annually, quarterly, or as requested) of a random sample of cases are audited to verify that correct codes have been assigned to all procedures and have resulted in the correct coding assignment. The potential financial impact to the hospital is also demonstrated during the review.

Legacy Coding will also perform DRG-specific reviews. Many hospitals are sensitive to the OIG "hot topics"... Legacy Coding can verify the proper DRG assignment and educate the coding staff in a concurrent mode.

Outpatient: APCs are impacting hospitals and hospital systems across the country. Legacy Coding will conduct a thorough assessment of outpatient coding to ensure all APC eligible procedures are properly coded.

Exit educational conferences are conducted for CE credit hours with all coding assessments.
